About the Project
The Outdoor Recreation Adventure Project (ORAP) consists of five separate phases that create free or very inexpensive outdoor recreation entertainment for families, visitors, and local and surrounding communities to enjoy in Grand Rivers. The project is focused on all-outdoor adventures that create a healthy "play experience" for all ages. The ORAP includes a musical trail (completed in May 2022), interactive playground, bike share, mural trail, and skate or splash park. Each phase of the project will be completed as it is funded. This project is primarily funded by contributions from individuals, corporations, and businesses. Additional secondary funding will be achieved through Tourism tax collection and the possibility of state and federal grants, and county and city contributions. The project is scheduled to start late summer of 2021 with a goal of completion in the Spring of 2024, depending on funding and resources.
